Washed Out//Amor Fati
2011 was not the year for chillwave. Old artists who received the brand on album one quickly abandoned the genre last year and put on a new persona. Washed Out (Ernest Greene) was one of the few who stayed with the genre and made a damn good album with it. I had the honor of seeing them live in July and they really kill it live. Instead of using a computer to just press play he plays the sounds live using multiple people to help. Then when the music hits the crowd we all start dancing smoothly and gracefully. It was defiantly one of my favorite shows. They may have been panned by critics (Pitchfork) which resulted in people not listening to the genre but I love him.
